Laparoscopic cyst removal by Dr. Jay S. Nemiro- Part I

by admin on February 13, 2010

You are seeing a fairly large (approximately 8 centimeter) right ovarian cyst removed through the operating laparoscope. By using a laparoscopic approach, Dr. Jay S. Nemiro was able to avoid an open procedure, or laparotomy, and preserve ovarian function. No matter how large a benign ovarian cyst is, Dr. Nemiro feels you should always save as much ovarian tissue as possible even if it is only 5-10%. The entire procedure took about 20 minutes, was done in an out-patient facility and the patient went home in a hour without any restrictions and was able to return to work the following day. I hoped this video was helpful. Please call me anytime with any questions at 480-860-4792.
